81 crews took to the Trent for this years Burton Head which is held over 3500m downstream including internatinal entries from Burton’s German twin town of Lingen. Though it looked to be a bit of a washout the rain had cleared by boating for the first division and racing commenced on what turned out to be a lovely sunny Autumn day.
Racing started with an Invitational Masters D 8+ from Loughborough BC who were rowing with an empty seat in memory of their crew member Andrew Hill.
Burton Leander were out in force as you’d expect from a home head with 15 crews taking to the water with 7 category wins including wins for crews in their first ever head race and some quick time only results including Ashley Prestige in the Elite 1x being the fastest time of the first Division in 12:41. Winner of the second division and fastest crew of the day were Loughborough BC IM1.8+ in a time of 11:38.
Well done to all crews and we hope to see you all again next year.
